Adult Education

Education Refuge prioritizes sustainable learning in the Kakuma Refugee Camp through an emphasis on community-led education. The Adult Education Program, or “Project Kakuma,” is facilitated by residential operators who ensure access to education for underserved residents within the camp.  Our teachers are refugees themselves who understand the educational needs and goals of students.

Our support is continuously adapted to reflect the needs, realities, and goals identified by our teachers and students living in Kakuma. Three key areas of ongoing support include:

  1. Classroom Supplies

  2. Teacher Resources and Support

  3. Addressing Other Needs that Impact Learning
